Memories of the June “More Truth Will Set You Free” Workshop With Derek O’Neill
By James Robinson © 2009
I smile as I write because I can already hear people saying to themselves, “what workshop did he go to? I don’t remember any of that…”. As Derek says “all perception is projection” so I take my projections in hand and summarize the workshop as I experienced it. For those who didn’t get to come this year, make every effort to come next June. We need these teachings to cope with the planetary shifts that are happening every moment and to realize our fullest potential.
I suppose that the biggest announcement was that there would be no October workshop this year. This gives everyone a whole year to save for the next workshop so that more people can show up. It also allows people more time to integrate the teachings we received at the June workshop more fully before we get another life changing download.
In the meantime, Creacon is the place to be this year. Derek will be calling people to come and spend time with him in order to allow those who are ready to take full advantage of their spiritual path. Creacon is both a resource and an investment in your spiritual growth, and it is an amazing gift to those who choose to accept it. One of our field trips during the workshop was to Creacon, and the changes that have been made to the energy and grounds there are miraculous. There are many new treasures there to surprise and enlighten us all. The childlike joy and sense of family that we enjoyed while we were there was transformational. Frisbees, hula hoops, tree hugging and great food were shared with love and laughter.
We returned to a completely new energy at Powerscourt on our other field trip. I am sure that everyone experienced it in his or her own special way. For me, everything seemed so vibrant with life, the colors, sights, smells and feelings were over the top! Everyone was walking around with a smile on their faces, as if they were sharing their own inner laughter with everyone. There were many new young faces at the workshop, and many of them took their turns scrambling their brains rolling down the banks.
There is not enough space to summarize all of Derek’s teachings at the workshop, so I will list some of the more meaningful teachings for me. First, it is time for each of us to realize that we are our own jailers. Not coincidentally, Billy Flynn was released from prison during the workshop, and one of the delightful stories we heard was that when he was leaving through the release gate his pants dropped to his ankles, symbolic of his new freedom. Way to go Billy! We all need to let go of limiting beliefs and behavior that keep us from fully living life. When we are brave enough to open up, drop the masks and bare our true selves to all to see, we will be free enough to create the abundant life that is our birthright.
The recession is only an illusion, a manifestation of our own fears and victim consciousness. When we step up and apply the teachings we have learned from Derek, life will change. One of the teachings shared by Derek was “Step through the drama to dharma after recognizing the karma.” (“TM”). He also shared the secret to life…are you ready? The secret to life is that we create everything. So always look for the message in everything before we let it go. If an experience was worth creating, it has a message for us.
The three most limiting judgments are “I am less than, equal to or better than” someone else. Comparing ourselves to others is one of the biggest traps that our ego catches us in. When we decide that someone is better than us, we first feel jealous, then we feel inadequate and then we are trapped. We have to understand that we are perfect and that everything we need in this lifetime will be given to us in divine abundance.
The greatest fear is the fear of living. When we start living we risk pain and suffering so we do everything to avoid the pain and suffering, which causes pain and suffering. We need to remember that death is an illusion as Linda taught us and to let go of our fear of living. We are perfect, life is perfect and everything that happens is perfect. We must embrace our suffering as the gift it is to teach us that all life is precious and must not be wasted. As I heard a long time ago, no one gets out of here alive, so enjoy it while we can. Derek also taught us a number of very powerful meditations to take with us. The tools he gave us were amazing!
We were also blessed with Adrianna Cohen’s teachings on our newest SQ symbol, the Prema Dharmadhatu. Adrianna shared how she channeled this symbol from Linda O’Neill and showed us all how to draw these symbols on people. Instructions on drawing this sacred symbol will be posted on the SQ website.
The talent show was astounding as usual; the talent of our family is endless. Nick Blue was the MC. Nick West’s “The Best Poem Never Written”, Ian Holm and Jonathan Keenan’s music, Jennifer Anderson’s musings, Jayde’s tango, and many other talented acts entertained us and kept us laughing until we were breathless. We were also graced with all of the family members who offer products and services that are well worth the cost. Karen Goldsmith’s and Leona Brimmer’s paintings, Lori Rafalof’s formal wear, Mara Accles’ PremaAgni jewelry, Linda Dross’s SQ aromatherapy oils, and Ian Holm’s new CD are ready for order.
As far as I am concerned, this was by far the most practical, powerful and healing workshop to date. We keep asking how Derek is going to top the last workshop, and he keeps showing up and gracing us all with healings, teachings and memories more powerful, more profound and transformational than before. I hope that everyone will make the effort to make the next workshop in June 2010. See you there!
